On a night that was planned to be filled with joy and happiness, the village of Al-Shamiya turned into the scene of a heinous crime that turned an engagement party into a funeral, and the sounds of laughter into screams of pain, when bullets were fired from a brother’s rifle towards his brothers and their children, ending the lives of 4 individuals.

In the heart of Al-Shamiya village in Sahel Selim district in Assiut, family and relatives gathered to celebrate the engagement of one of their daughters. The atmosphere was filled with joy and happiness, but behind this happy scene, feelings of hatred and malice lurked.

After the party ended, and in the midst of the side conversations, a violent verbal altercation broke out between cousins, which quickly turned into a bloody conflict. Old disputes over a piece of land were enough to ignite the fuse of violence, turning into a tragedy that shook everyone’s conscience.

With a gun loaded with hatred, one of the sons randomly shot his relatives, stealing their lives and drowning the family in a sea of ​​blood and tears. Four victims fell to the bullets of treachery: "Sameer. F.", his brother "Hosni," his nephew "Abdul Rahman. H.", and their cousin "Sharif. H." Two women from the family were also injured, one of them seriously.

Investigations revealed that there were previous disputes over a piece of land between the victims and their fugitive brother, “Awad. F.” On the day of the incident, everyone was at the engagement party of one of their daughters. After the guests left, a verbal altercation occurred, after which the fugitive accused fired a hail of bullets from a rifle he had in his possession, which led to the death of four members of his family.

The accused of killing his brothers, son and cousin was killed after being chased by the police in an attempt to arrest him in the village of Al-Shamiya in the Sahel Selim Center, due to disputes over a piece of agricultural land.

The Assiut Security Director received a notification of a quarrel between brothers and cousins ​​over a piece of land, with deaths and injuries. Upon arrival and examination, it was found that "Sameer. F. A.", his brother "Hosni", his nephew "Abdul Rahman. H.", and their cousin "Sherif. H." were killed, and two women were injured, including the wife of the first. The bodies were transferred to the Sahel Selim Hospital morgue, and the two injured to Assiut University Hospital.
